Every Friday I post about my finances for the week in an effort to monitor my income and expenses. I used to post all of the actual figures but I have recently decided to stop doing this.

I will now post SOME of my actual expenses and leave the rest to your imagination. All income and expenses are recorded in Mint and any amounts are rolled over into the next month.

This week my expenses were:

$6.38 at Firehouse for a sandwich for lunch. I had to work an event off campus where lunch was provided so I did not bring anything that day. We have gotten good food from events like this in the past…but this year the food just did not appeal to me at all. I ended up buying lunch that day instead of getting the free food. This reminds me to keep something at work that lasts a long time for cases like this.

I spent $4.60 at Starbucks because I met with my protege there for our bi-weekly mentoring session. It is a small price to pay to keep a freshman on the right track in college.

I spent $33.29 to fill up my tank from about a quarter full. This is not bad when you consider that the last time I bought gas was in August. So as usual I am buying gas about every 2 months because I do not drive much.

I actually have been driving to work/school every day and only taking the bus once a week. I do not think that taking the bus more will drastically lower my gas purchase. It certainly will not take me down to buying gas every three months so I will continue to drive like I normally do.
