I got a wallet style phone case for my phone this time. Recently I needed to get a new phone and I was experimenting with different styles of phone cases. I’ve had the phone for about 3 weeks now and I am still getting used to it.

To protect my phone I decided to get different phone cases to see what I liked best.

There are pros and cons to using a wallet style phone case.

Pros:

They hold more.

The wallet style cases have slots to place your id, credit/debit cards, and cash. Now I haven’t actually put my financial items in the case as yet. I don’t like the idea of having my card and id with the phone since I have my phone out so much. The only time I place my credit card in there is during the week when I leave my office to buy lunch!

They are protective.

These types of cases cover both the front and back of the phone. I always have a screen protector on my phone. This type of case offers double protection for the screen, which is the most sensitive area.

Cons:

They are bulky.

You can get thin cases like I did. However, since they cover the front AND back you have a double layer to deal with.

They are awkward to use.

Unlike the snap on cases, these can take some getting used to. First you have to flip the cover open when you need to use the phone. You also have to use the phone with the cover facing the back of your head when making calls. This means I am constantly needed to take/make calls on the left so cover does not hit my face.

Final thoughts:

I like the protection the wallet style case offers and the annoyances are minor enough that I will keep using this case.
