Good morning everyone! The first blogger to be highlighted in the Meet the Blogger Mondays series is Brooke from DollarFrugal.

You can see the questions highlighted below and then the responses taken directly from Brooke.

Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging because I wanted to see if I could make some money. So far, it hasn’t been much, but enough to pay for the hosting fees every month.

How long have you been blogging?

I’ve been blogging since October 2007, but I slacked off until I looked on Google one day and saw my page. Then it really clicked with me that I’d better get serious.

Are you a part time blogger or full time blogger?

I’m a part time blogger. I feel like I’m a part time everything, these days!

TreadmillWhat keeps you motivated?

Lots of things. Crappy days at work are especially motivating.

It would be nice to someday use it as a “plan B,” but I have a long way to go.

Do your loved ones know about your blog?

Yes, but they really don’t seem interested…that’s okay. Not many of my acquaintances really seem interested in their own personal finances. I’ll never understand why not…

Do you disclose real numbers on your blog?

Yes, I disclose real numbers. It wouldn’t really be fair if not.

Are all the posts true events or do you make up stories?

The posts are all true events!

What three bloggers inspire you the most?

Jacob (earlyretirementextreme.com).

What is the most important thing you want your readers to take from your blog?

A little creativity and perseverence go a long way.

What do you wish you knew before you started blogging?

Not to host on Yahoo.

pennyWhat is your favorite money management tip?

It doesn’t seem like a money management tip until you think about it, but “take good care of your belongings.”

I’ve never been angry at myself for taking good care of things!

What is the best thing about blogging?

Getting up in the morning before everyone else when it’s still quiet, logging on, and finding a bunch of really interesting or nice comments.

What is the worst thing about blogging?

When the techie stuff gets in the way. I love finding a new plugin, but when there isn’t a plugin to do what you want, and you find yourself searching for code on the internet at midnight, it’s a bit frustrating.

What would your readers be most surprised to find out about you now?

My dream is actually to retire to one of the most expensive places in the world – Carmel Valley in California, but I’m not sure if my sensible side would even let me do that.

What are your plans for the blog in the next 12 months?

I expect readership to continue growing. It seems like I have more new (unique) viewers everyday. I expect to grow as a writer and continue to provide quality reading material!

Thank you Brooke for answering all of the questions. It was very interesting for me to find out these things about you since I follow your blog and I now feel like I know you better.
