It is the middle of the year…ok a little past the middle of the year and it is time again to do a Mid Year Finance check up. This is where you take a look at your history for the year to date and determine how it compares to your annual budget.

For me this is easy with Mint since it provides not only a monthly tab but also a year to date count of what I have spent and what I have gotten as income.

I will review my finances to date to determine whether or not I am on track to stay under budget. If I am on track to go over the annual budget then this is a good time for me to review the categories where I need to spend less.

This mid year review is also very important for me to do right now because my rent payment is going to change in August. This means the budget category will change as well, and that will affect the annual budget projections.
