MyPoints Introduces Bonus $20 Gift Card For Online Shopping

January 19, 2011 by Lulu in Make money online with 10 Comments

Those of us who use MyPoints (hit me up for a referral!!!!) on a regular basis will be pleased to note that this year they have introduced something new as a way to encourage users to use the site. It is called ‘My Shopping Tally‘ and it lets you get a $20 gift card bonus if you make 10 purchases from the site until December 31st this year. This means you can get extra points because not only do you earn points from making purchases but then each of those purchases brings you one step closer to that bonus.

Here is how it works:
You want to buy something online….say a bottle of lotion from Walmart.com. You go into your MyPoints account and click on the shopping tab from there and then select Walmart.com. You then make your purchase as normal from Walmart.com but since you got to Walmart via MyPoints you earn 1 point per dollar spent (current Walmart rate) AND you earn one entry into the 10 for $20 system.

Simple right?

I have already made two purchases for the year by just remembering to log in to my MyPoints account FIRST and then going to the site I want and I just wanted to share that with you all. Remember you can also earn points by answering surveys and reading emails, which you can then redeem for gift cards for a LARGE selection of places so go ahead and check out your MyPoints now.

Does mypoints give cash back for Amazon or ebay? That would be great.

Yes they currently give points for eBay. They do not offer points for Amazon.

    LuLuGal,

I just read this posting you placed up and was curious as to whether you know how the Mypoints “My Shopping Tally” bonus award program works? What exactly do you get once you have actually fulfilled the amount of purchases required for the “My Shopping Tally” program? I do believe the quota differs for everyone as my account offered a bonus $10 gift card (instead of a $20 gift card as you mentioned) after I made 3 purchased from the site until December 31st this year (instead of the 10 purchases you were offered). However, I recently fufilled my quota and it shows as complete yet I havent noticed any extra points accredited to my account nor does it show anything about them sending me the $10 gift card. I looked all over the site to try to find more information as to how it works but came up with nothing. Am I to be accredited soon and if so how? Or am I to wait for the end of the year before I get the bonus?

Any assistance on your behalf should you know how it works would be appreciated. Thanks for sharing btw. ;-)

According to the Terms and Conditions on my MyPoints account the shopping tally is for 10 purchases between January 1st and December 31st 2011. The tally is finalized on January 1st 2012.

Purchases must be made through MyPoints as a portal and you will see your points credited. Any returns will subtract from the total and the reward at the end is a $20 gift card.

Purchases made at Amazon.com do not count…but since they do not give points I would not have used them anyway.

I have made three purchases at sites that also gave points back and I see all three of my purchases counting in the tally.

Ana I was wondering the exact same thing. I emailed customer service and this was their reply:

“Once you complete your Shopping Tally, and all the Points associated with the purchases made are no longer pending, you will be credited with 1,650 Points to redeem for a $10 gift card of your choosing in our Rewards section.”

      Hope this helps!

I was offered $10 for 5 purchases. Interesting that different people get different offers. I can’t wait to get my points. I really want to get a CPK gift card. My kids have been asking to go there!

MyPoints is a marketing tool, nothing is really “for free” so you will be added on marketing lists.

I don’t have a problem with that. No money is coming out of my pocket and money is actually coming IN.

I wasn’t aware of this. I get MyPoints through BzzAgent and rarely check mypoints account. Guess I better go take a peek!
