Begin Interview

Why did you start blogging?
On a whim. After I started reading a few blogs, I wondered how hard it would be to start one. (answer: Its is simple to start one, nearly impossible to stop).

How long have you been blogging?

Since October 31, 2007 Here is the entire contents of my first post:

Like many that came before me, I am on a journey to construct a portfolio that will provide me…

Dividends 4 Life"

Are you a part time blogger or full time blogger?
Part-time.

What keeps you motivated?
I live to accomplish and to succeed!

Do your loved ones know about your blog?
Yes.

Do you disclose real numbers on your blog?
Yes. I don’t disclose everything, but what I disclose is real.

Are all the posts true events or do you make up stories?
Generally, true events.  Sometime I use stories to illustrate a point such as my Jack and Jill post.  Sometimes, the depth of the truth is truly sad such as Life is a Choice

What three bloggers inspire you the most?
The Dividend Guy This blog holds a special place in my life – it was the first blog I ever visited.  Being a little older than the average blogger (mid-40’s), I had always assumed blogs were for teenagers and 20-somethings to discuss topics that I wouldn’t be interested in.  I found the Dividend Guy’s Blog and discovered good relevant information is available on blogs.
Dividends Matter Average Joe doesn’t post much anymore. His thoughtful stock analysis inspired me to clean up my messy analysis and concentrate a little more on its presentation.
#3 Tie Dividend Money , Financial Jungle , The Div Guy and The Money Gardener . When I started blogging these were the only other blogs I read. for several months.

What is the most important thing you want your readers to take from your blog?
Making a lot of money should not be your life’s goal. However, it can be a result of a good positive attitude, hard work, discipline and self-sacrifice.

What do you wish you knew before you started blogging?
Move from a .blogspot to a custom domain as soon as possible.
What is your favorite money management tip?
Invest for the long-run and don’t sweat the daily ups and downs.

What is the best thing about blogging?
It helps me from micro-managing my portfolio.

What is the worst thing about blogging?
I spend too much time doing it.

What would your readers be most surprised to find out about you now?
Just how conservative I am.

What are your plans for the blog in the next 12 months?
1,000 subscribers and 5,000 daily hits.
