Welcome to Money Mondays! I used to post my financial inflows and outflows on Fridays in the past but I decided to move this to Mondays instead. I normally go grocery shopping on Sundays after church. I will now post the last week’s worth of financial inflows and outflows on Monday so that I can include the weekend spending as well.

This week my financial outflows were:

$8.67 for some more storage units from Amazon. I actually had a $25 gift card that went towards the full balance, so this is the amount I had to spend out of my budget.

In the past, I would record a gift card redemption from credit card points as income and would record that in Mint. I think this is double counting because I only got those points from prior spending and then use them to reduce future spending. This year, I will not record gift card redemptions nor will I record the offset amount because that would just round it off to zero. Instead, I will simply record the actual amount spent over the gift card balance.

$19.54 for some fish, bagged salad, kefir, and bananas. I have really gotten into drinking kefir since I like yogurt so much. I bought two giant bottles of it so that that should last a couple of weeks. The salad says it is 2 servings but it really makes 4 for me. I throw in a few extras like cranberries and nuts and portion it out into some containers that I bought during the Black Friday sales last year. Even as four portions I get a LOT of salad so I am really not sure about the serving sizes listed on the bag.

I did not have any financial inflows this week but that is to be expected since I only get paid once a month. I sometimes get an inflow from my Lending Club loans but I have do not have any withdrawals scheduled for a while.

I will continue to post my inflows and outflows in the Money Mondays series so you can keep up with what I am doing on a regular basis!
