Hey, thanks for commenting on my post. I wonder if the tax issue is just different in different states? I live in CA and we do have to pay tax on the amount of the manufacturers coupons. I checked with my husband (who used to work at Longs Drugs) and he said that it is always like that in CA. Oh well – I guess I can pay some pennies to the state since I’m not paying anything else! 🙂
Emily’s last blog post..CVS trip 12/28
I guess so then. I know we pay tax on some items but not others so that is why I was surprised when you mentioned the shampoo. (Texas is different I guess.)
Maybe the cashier was having a bad day the last time you were there. Love how you got the stuff for FREE!
Alas, I’m feeling a little uninspired by this week’s deals, but I’m not too disappointed after last weekend’s haul (10 bottles of Listerine!! 5 for me, 5 for mom). Next week looks a bit better though – especially if you’re thinking about stocking up on cold/cough meds!
How are you all doing this? Can you redeem the Extra Care Bucks immediately at the cash register?
Yes you can. The extra bucks print at the end of the receipt. If you do two (or more transactions) then you can use the ECBs that printed out earlier.
I use my ECBs from the previous week because the ECBs expire in one month.
Every now and then I will do two transactions because I do not want some of the ECBs to lump together.
