Today I paid $0.00 out of pocket for $29.98 worth of items. Today is Valentine’s Day but the deals at CVS were not all that great in my mind. I only got three items that I really wanted and was not impressed by the rest of the selections. I made a purchase last week that I forgot to post so transaction 1 will be last week and transaction 2 will be this week.
Since my gift card balance is now so low and I made a pledge to not spend out of pocket at CVS this year I will have to find a way to generate another gift card so that I can continue shopping there.

Join me next time as I look for more ways to save money as I visit CVS.
Laminate a photo of the two of you, made into a bookmark – so it can be a few small pics or just one, glue it to construction paper with hearts, then hole punch the top and put a ribbon of some kind through the hole.
where do you get these MFR’s – were they in the store?
I got them from the newspapers that I buy every now and then on Sundays.
Have you started to use ECB’s? I really started saving at CVS using “Extra Care Bucks”! You can see my post for 2/14 on my blog. I saved $70 and spent only $1.89 plus tax Out of Pocket.
Glad to see you were able to save so much. Very smart thinking by you.
Till then,
Jean
Going alone is a great tip I’ve never read before. It makes perfect sense. Yesterday I went in for a few toiletries (Sunday Coupons) with my fiance, but came out with a pint of ice cream and a 3 Musketeers. As I thought about it, both of us spend more when we’re together at the store.
Nice tips for saving in this challenging economy to free up some extra cash around Valentine’s Day. I wanted to augment your suggestions by adding a strategy for reducing another major drain on American households: cell bills. We shouldn’t just monitor our wireless costs; we need to actively work to reduce them. For starters, check out the Houston-based company Validas, where I work in consumer advocacy. At Validas, we electronically audit and subsequently reduce the average cell bill by about 22 percent—equating to around $450 annually—through our website, http://www.fixmycellbill.com . From regular people to top corporations to huge entities like the State of California, an incredibly varied group of wireless customers uses Validas to slash their wireless bills. Take a look at our blog at blog.myvalidas.com/ for wireless savings tips and advice.
Good luck to everyone reading at retaking control over your wireless expenses.
