I am not getting married BUT I have been reading a few bridal magazines lately. I found out that many people tend to go overboard and go over their budgets when a wedding comes around.
Here is a wedding money mistake that people often make.
1. Not Setting Budget Priorities
It is easy to become over excited when you see all the great things that you can have in the wedding. I have seen so many beautiful dresses and floral arrangements that I want them all.
I have lost my mind over the different destination weddings that I have seen in all the bridal magazines and don’t even get me started on the food.
There are so many great gadgets that you can get for gifts that I think I could use every one of them…even though I don’t know what half of them are used for. Before you get married you need to set a budget that you can feel comfortable with.
In that budget you need to set the priorities straight so that you know what you will be working with. If it is more important to you than anything to have a great buffet set up, then tweak the rest of the budget so that you can get that.
I look forward to reading all 10 mistakes, so far #1 is where the problem starts. Not having a pre planned budget can leave you in such a financial state. And you will only realise this after the last person leaves the wedding hall(venue).lol
I guess it is easy to not set a firm budget….or to think it will be okay when the expenses just keep growing.
I have been looking at some wedding magazines…and I added so many things to my list…knowing that it is mythical right now. But every time I turn the page I see something else I would like so I can understand how people can get out of control.
Hi LuLu, I’m still waiting for Part 2 of 10.
Part two is coming out on December 5th. 🙂
Sorry about the wait.
