Welcome to my daily tracking of income and expenses for the month.
Income for the month to date: $113.46
Expenses for the month to date: $1410.25
Net effect: -$1296.79
I got a little bit of income from my online activities and I must say I am very happy to get this. I sent off a few more credit card payments and bought some more food and gas.
I am within my food budget so far, having spent $36.10 out of my $150 food budget. Although gas prices have gone up I am still on track with my gas budget as well since I have spent $26.85 out of my $50 budget and it is already halfway through the month. I was thinking that I might have to increase my budget for gas to $60 with the rising prices. Then I remembered that I will not be working during the summer time and will not be driving as much. I think I can safely leave my gas budget at $50 for now. We will see what happens with that.
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
Hi, I was wondering if you could reallocate more time and enthusiasm from your (no doubt excellent) blog writing to your chosen field of studies and becoming an expert in some part of it, your career would benefit much more. The money will then automatically follow. Just a thought, that’s all.
I think you are spending more than of what you are earning. Remember to save for the rainy days.
@ Paulette:
I think you are getting this mixed up a little bit. I get paid on the last day of every month so I always start the month in the negative because my rent is due on the first of the month.
Other utilities are due between the 1st and the 4th. I have budgeted every cent of my income so as long as I stay below the budgeted amounts I am not spending more than I earn.
The budget also includes an amount for savings.

Easier said than done. There are circumstances that you are not aware of at play here. Thanks for your concern.
