Every Friday I post about my finances for the week in an effort to monitor my income and expenses. I used to post all of the actual figures but I have recently decided to stop doing this.

I will now post SOME of my actual expenses and leave the rest to your imagination.

This week my expenses were:

$110.22 for renter’s insurance for the year. I have lived in this complex for the last two years without having renter’s insurance. It was never required by the complex but I guess they have been having issues with people recently. Last year they mentioned that we needed to get insurance but it was not enforced. This year we are under new management and they have been very persistent about setting policies up.

There was a recommended insurance provider but I ended up getting mine with a different company as I could get a cheaper rate for the same level of coverage.

This week my income was:

$25 Walmart gift card from redeeming some credit card points. This is the card I use to pay my rent and all items that do not qualify for the rotating cash back categories on other cards. It is nice to see the rent points stack up and finally pay me back. I got a gift card because my balance was too low to get a cash redemption or a statement credit!
