So I was at the doctor’s office yesterday (more on that later) when I saw a lady sitting on a couch….right next to a penny.
I wanted that penny and I was prepared to wait for her to get up so I could go get it. She got up, only to stretch and then she sat down again. She noticed the penny and I thought she was going to pick up….but she just brushed it a little bit away from her.
She kept fidgeting and moving the penny further away..but not far enough for me to pick it up comfortably. Then her friend came in and sat down next to her, RIGHT on the penny.
I missed getting a penny yesterday.
This may be borderline fanatical, but extremely entertaining.
That’s so funny… don’t ya hate that… It’s that damn pride that gets in the way 🙂
The doctor will get any pennies remaining when the day is done. Actually, what are the ethics concerning found money on private property? I would pick up a penny if it is out on the street but in the doctor’s office, it’s a bit more shady.
The doctor most likely would not even SEE the pennies because there is a cleaning service that comes in every day. The doctors hardly ever come out into the patient seating area because a nurse comes out to pick patients up and escort them to the back rooms where the doctors are.
The doctors also have a private entrance so they do not walk through the same areas as patients.
I think the cleaning person might pick up the pennies or maybe throw them away too …..so I think that puts your ethics question to rest.
Besides with the amount of money those doctors make I don’t think they are too worried about the stray penny lying here and there on the couches in their waiting rooms. 🙂
The only time I don’t pick up a penny is when my back is
acting up. It would cost me more to go to the chiropractor and have my back fixed, so I let it go that day.

Well it was a good thing you skipped it then. No sense in spending hundreds of pennies just to save one.:-)
