Welcome to tracking of income and expenses for the month. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: I got paid !!!!!!!
Expenses for the month to date: Slightly off since I am on vacation
Net effect: $188.95 positive
Since the last posting I got my advertising money from ze great Googley one and as always I am thankful for that money that helps with the bills. I spent some more money going out and eating with friends but since I had that extra money for my vacation fund it was all rolled into one.
I actually have a bunch of money left over from my vacation fund but I have decided to leave it in the bank down in St. Lucia to take care of some business down here.
I got a total of $8.77 from Lending Club loans that are being repaid and I got $7.24 from Prosper loans.
I only spent $10.12 on gas while in the US which is way under my budget for the month, but I gave friends here money for gas every now and then and did not get receipts…..so that accounting is all wonky.
I am returning to the US on August 8th so I will be back to my credit card using habits and getting off this cash only accounting system. I must admit that I am NOT a fan of the cash existance, especially when I am in a place where I can spend without getting receipts (you try getting a receipt from a roadside vendor!!!!!!) and then have to convert to US dollars. LOL!
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
First you should know exactly how much money you earn and then make expenses. In order to stop spending money you don’t have, you have to make a list of wanted and unwanted expenses. There are many other ways to stop spending unnecessarily, but you have to become aware of them and then put your priorities in order.
