I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: $763.96
Expenses for the month to date: $3218.51
Net effect: -$2454.55
Since the last posting I have received $3.27 from Prosper and while it is a small amount it is still welcome income from my investment. This brings my total income from Prosper to $10.07 for the month. I received $4.94 from Lending Club this week and my total income from Lending Club is now $13.19 for the month of March.
I got a refund of $250 from an overpayment that I had made a long time ago….insurance stuff. That money is going into the snowflake account to pay off some debt later on. I also got my blog income from Adsense and thank everyone who made it possible. I will be buying gas tomorrow as I am currently sitting on about a quarter tank and I paid $6 to wash the car at the drive through today.
I sent off an Electric Check from ING to pay for my online class for next month and while I am sad to see that money go I know that it is an investment in my future. I spent $23.71 on household items which included kitty litter and kitchen sponges.
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
Interesting blog.
Question: I have read and subscribe to first paying yourself before anything whenever you get a pay check, no matter how small the amount. Do you have such an account?
Yes I do this..it is my savings sub account in ING.
It must get hard sometimes trying to save money and budget week after week. On the other hand though my Dad does it and he loves the lifestyle change over living paycheck to paycheck.
