I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: $104.42
Expenses for the month to date: $1443.64
Net effect: -$1339.22
Since the last posting I spent $88.84 on food and $12.23 on household items. I received $16.26 from my Lending Club investment this week and this puts me at the minimum needed to fund a new $25 loan at the end of the month. I am pleased with those results because my investment is doing well so far and I have already received the break even amount before we were even halfway through the month.
I also paid $331.50 into COBRA payments to keep my insurance up to date since I no longer have insurance through an employer. My original budget for Health was $110 because my insurance payments came out before my pay came in so I only thought of that amount for copays and medicine not covered by the insurance. As it stands I will be $221.50 in the hole with regards to Health every month because I am not able to change my budget to fit in that COBRA payment.
Well technically I COULD do it by shifting the ‘car payment’ amount over to the Health category. My car is fully paid off so my ‘car payment’ for the month is simply going into a savings account in ING….but I really don’t want to bother with changing up my budget figures for now. So in my spreadsheet I will see an ‘overage’ in the Health column but my total spending for the month with regards to physical outflows should be fine.
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and remain debt free!!!!
Jesus…you really do have expensive health insurance over there.
If you are unemployed here, you pay a max of 22€ (around 30$) and thats it.
Even if you are employed the employer doesnt sweat the insurance that much, but the system is in tact and working nicely at the moment.
I hope it will stay this way 🙂
Sincerely, Buyseech

Mark
Thank you so much for the job wishes. I am glad this blog is inspiring to you.
Depends on the company and the state that you live in. Auto inrscanue is regulated by each state so it can differ from state to state. Some companies might offer:-Good student discount (if you have a B or better average, so 3.0 or higher)-Driver Training discount (if you got your drivers license through an on the road’ driver training course and got a certificate stating you completed the course-Some companies offer a book to be completed to make you designate driving goals to make you aware of your driving skills. If there are 3 cars in the house and 3 drivers in the house, you will probably have to be put as a primary operator of a car, BUT if threre are 2 cars in the house and 3 drivers in the house you could probably be rated as an occational operator of the vehicle. Just offering some suggestions for you!Hope this helps. Good luck.
Your doing well and keep up the good work. i know it must be hard with the move and looking for a job.
