I’m saving 50% of my income in October. Well at least that is the goal. I’m not sure how I will be able to stick to this goal but I think I will do ok.

I’m working from home for most of the week and really only go to the office one day a week. This saves me a considerable amount in gas over the course of the month. I’m also cooking more at home so there are some cost savings there as well.

Since I get paid twice a month, I will move the second paycheck for the month from checking to savings. I think I have a pretty good grip on my spending and barring any emergencies I can keep it to 50% of my income.

If this goes well, I will try to do it again in November. The ultimate goal is to attempt to save 50% of my income for the rest of the school year.
