I just paid a stupid tax of $100. Stupid tax is when you pay a cost that you could have easily avoided.

I had a recurring subscription that I wanted to cancel. I cancelled it one week after the payment for the month went through because I was no longer using the service.

There was not a way to automatically cancel the subscription from the website so I messaged the owner. I was then informed that they needed 30 days to cancel payments so NEXT month’s payment would still go through.

While the amount was just a hair over $100, and it is not a financial burden, I just feel stupid for missing this.
