I used to post my financial inflows and outflows on Fridays in the past but I decided to move this to Mondays instead. Normally I go grocery shopping on Sundays after church. Now I  will post the last week’s worth of financial inflows and outflows on Monday so that I can include the weekend spending as well.

This week my financial outflows were:

$249 for conference registration. I will be presenting my research at a conference in February next year. It is also an opportunity to network and interview for a job, so this is a great opportunity for me.

$429.96 for the airfare. The conference is in an expensive city and so the flight is a bit much. $382.79 for the hotel. I will be staying at the conference hotel since that is just easier. We do get a discounted rate for staying there because hotels in this area are very expensive. My department does reimburse us for $500 for a conference, so this will take a little of burden off.

I did not have any inflows this week, which is not surprising.

Fun Money Fund

We are also getting into the gift buying season which means I will be spending a little bit more. The good thing is this money is coming out of my Fun Money Fund. The Fun Money Fund is a separate savings account where I put a little bit away every month. That way when I want to spend something I just do it as long as the balance can cover the purchase.
