I am at an all day session for the entire week. My friends will be going to buy lunch every day. I bought some stuff from WalMart and I will be cooking and eating home cooked food.
Brandon….I know you did NOT try to sneak a Diet Dr. Pepper in there as being healthy. 🙂 Diet or not it is still carbonated sugar water. Water and juice are healthy.
Nice that you mentioned the gas savings as well. When I finally started taking my lunches to work (leftovers from dinner) it was not so much the cost of lunches that I saw the improvement on, but rather the gas of driving through traffic to get to my favorite lunch spots. I didn’t have to fill up as much (even though the money saved on lunches was just as much, if not more, than the gas) and that was noticeable. Great blog, btw!
Hey Mike,
I did not even think of the gas at first. It was only after having to drive every day last week to get lunch (I am in training sessions and there is o fridge or microwave and lunch is not provided) that I realized how much gas is used up when you do not brig lunch to work.
Hey Lulugal,
Way to go girl!
Guess who’s going to be ahead of the “lunch” crowd soon???
Marie
I enjoy following your journey on the saving money trail.
Hey Marie, thanks for the positive comments. Why not share some of the ways that YOU save money in your life with us?
I buy those Lean Cuisine meals. They are only $2.25 at the Commissary. I have a Diet Dr. Pepper too. That’s a good-healthy meal for under $3.
Eating healthy is expensive.

Hello lulugal,
Actually, I just found a way to save money on A/C.
(Living Better…For Less , August 21, 2007,Volume 9, Number 67)if you want to susbcribe,the URL is:

If you have A/C system, close your closets and cabinet doors. If left open, you are essentially paying to keep them cool.
I never thought of that before,so from now on, the doors will be closed.

Hey Marie thanks for the tip. I keep them closed anyway but I am happy to know that is another way that I do save money.
