Which way do your blinds slant? I did not think that it mattered which way the blinds in the living room slanted and in every apartment I have lived in there was always a sun-bleached spot right on the carpet right next to the glass doors.
I never made a big deal about it and since it was the job of the apartment complex to fix and replace the carpet it was not an issue with me. Then one day Honey said that I should slant the blinds in the other direction because it would prevent the sunlight from hitting the carpet directly while still letting light into the room.
He then proceeded to demonstrate the concept to me and I must say that I have kept the blind slanted in the opposite direction ever since. The sunlight is nice and bright in my living room but the rays of the sun are not directly hitting the carpet so I do not think I will be seeing that bleached out effect any time soon.
I always slant the blinds up in the summer and down in the winter.
But I don’t have carpet, so I don’t have to worry about bleaching it out.
i never knew this. and here i was slanting my blinds because i’m a vampire and i hate when the sun shines in on me. ok nevermind π
great tip π
I think she was referring to the vertical blinds over the sliding door.
