I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: $4.79
Expenses for the month to date: $754.74
Net effect: -$749.95
Since the last posting I found two pennies on the ground outside Walmart so I dropped that in the kitchen drawer in the penny bag. Oh yeah!!!!! I love getting free money. I still do not have enough in there to roll as yet but as soon as I have enough for a roll I will deposit it when I go to the bank to get quarters for laundry.
I also got a $3 check from Pinecone for a survey I did sometime last month. I preferred when they would send money via Paypal but I guess it is now cheaper to buy a stamp than to pay the PayPal fee. Either way that is money to be added to the snowflake fund so I am not complaining.
I got $1.77 from Prosper and since my state is still not allowed to make new loans I am just withdrawing all the money as it is paid back.
I paid the rent and associated housing costs, including the water bill which is $5.79 over the amount I had budgeted. My total housing bill is still below budget so I am not worried about that sub set of water, which I cannot control as I live in an apartment building.
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
Hi, i was amazed how you budget your money. Because of that I was inspired to apply this in my financial activities. Thank You
It always makes me feel good when someone says that I was an inspiration. Good that you are applying some of my tips in your life and I wish you all the best.
Can you share the link for Pinecone and Prosper?
Love the idea of posting weekly spending to keep a close eye on cash flow.
