I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: $87.84
Expenses for the month to date: $1606.65
Net effect: -$1518.81
Since the last posting I spent $22.88 on gas, leaving $37.12 in the budget for the month. I spent $30.41 on food that I really did not NEED to get as it was mainly some fruits and icecream and yogurt. I did get cheese, bread and other staples but about $15 was spent on snacking items to fill up my bag at work.
I sent off a check for $12.86 to a medical screening company that came to do blood work on employees. The insurance covers a big portion of the total cost because all the different tests that they run come to about $300. I heard some employees grumbling about the cost and I was thinking it is less than $15 and you get a very good blood work up. They check for things like cholesterol and glucose and a few other tests. I had it done last year and received a long report a few weeks later so I will be comparing my numbers with those of last year to see if I am any healthier.
Income for the week consisted of my super gigantic $46 income tax refund but I am happy that I did not owe and also happy that I only got a small refund because I was able to use more of my money over the year as opposed to waiting for it to come back to me.
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
Seems pretty interesting and would really like to know what happens at the month end. The figures does not look so good but on the last day, things would be definitely better. Good luck 🙂
I hate mathematics but that post is cool, it is good to share your finance record (good for you and for us to know how other think about their earnings and spended money)
Thanks a lot for sharing your financial reports with us. It’s quite interesting to peruse through. 🙂
Till then,
