I have decided to post my weekly spending for the previous week on Fridays so you know how my cash has been flowing for the week. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: $74.51
Expenses for the month to date: $3920.86
Net effect: -$845.35
Since the last posting I spent $77.10 to board and lodge the cat while I was recovering from my surgery because I did not have anyone who could look after him while I was in bed and it would have been too stressful for me to try to take of him on my own. This covered 8 days of food and boarding so in the end it was not too high when broken down on a daily cost.
I also paid $54.80 to renew my vehicle’s registration and I was able to do this online which made my life a LOT easier because I got instant confirmation and might be earning some points on my credit card for the purchase.
I bought $10.63 worth of fruits to last me through the work week as I try to maintain my goal of eating one fruit with every meal during the day.
I received $3.96 from my Lending Club loans, bringing my total income from Lending Club for the month to $45.98. Since I made over $25 I will be investing in a new loan at the end of the month which should generate further income as time goes on.
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
That’s really huge expenses. I even can’t think about that much to spend.
Good job on being frugal this week! It’s definitely hard to keep expenses to the minimum and looking at the bigger picture, but it will all be worth it once you are paid off 🙂 good luck!
$10.63 worth of fruits for the week!? That seems kind of high. What kind of fruits are you buying?
I buy two containers of blue berries and one of strawberries, along with a bag of grapes. Sometimes I get a bag of apples but I go through it all in one week so the bill does add up. One container of strawberries is about $3!!!!!
