Welcome to How I Save Money. I have been seeing a lot of talk about Cuil (pronounced like cool….go figure) and how it is set to rival Google. Cuil is a new search engine that is set up to provide a better search experience than Google to give users more alternatives.
I have not bought stock in the company but we just need to wait and see what is happening with it. I did a search for my name and I did not even rank as number one for that (it is not a common name).
I searched for this site…but it was not indexed as yet….
Waiting to see how cool Cuil can really be.
Have you used Cuil as yet? What do you like or dislike?
I like it, even though it’s had a bit of a slamming in the tech press. I like the appearance of the results pages – they do make Google’s look old and stale.
What I don’t like is that while I can restrict my Google search to UK sites, via google.co.uk, I can’t do the same with Cuil. So it’s too America-centric for me right now – not much help when I’m searching for UK-based shops and bargains etc.
I was playing with it earlier and my site was not indexed either. I also typed something in that stumped it and got a message that said, “please try to rephrase the search”.
Best Wishes,
D4L
It has been getting some negative press..but hey all exposure is good exposure I guess.
I submitted my site to it just in case it does blow up into something big. 🙂
I’ve been reading about it a bit, but haven’t really given it much of a shot. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns in to something huge because Google has been around long enough that people are probably ready for something new.
But people are also reluctant to change and Google has had some great results so who really knows what will happen.
Hi, I thought I’d post a note and inform you that your blog layout is really messed up on the Opera browser. Seems to work well in IE though. Anyways keep up the good writing.
