Hey great news on the candle thing.
I tried using the candle instead of the light in the bathroom for bathing etc and the electric bill was about $20 lower. Of course this is not scientifically proven but it was just an idea.
There are many things that could have affected the lower bill this month. It has gotten cooler so we do not use fans. I have been going to bed earlier this month too since it is so cold and I want to sleep all the time.
Here’s another tip from a reader. When you have a multibulb fixture (like the one over the bathroom mirror) you do not have to fill all the slots.
You can get a great deal of useful light (or use your candle!!!) from alternating with an empty slot and a bulb. The difference is not really noticeable…except when you get that electricity bill at the end of the month.
Make sure you use the special power saving light bulbs too. They do work and are better for the environment.
