Welcome to Money Mondays!
(If you are not reading this post at www.howisavemoney.net or in your feed reader, it may have been stolen from my site.)
I used to post my financial inflows and outflows on Fridays in the past but I decided to move this to Mondays instead. Normally I go grocery shopping on Sundays after church. Now I will post the last week’s worth of financial inflows and outflows on Monday so that I can include the weekend spending as well.
This week my financial outflows were:
$100.87 for household items. This included some cat food and litter as well as office supplies. I am going to need some serious filing and organization items to collect and categorize my tenure documentation. Another faculty member helped me with some ideas for keeping track of everything and I ordered some supplies. I do have that second bedroom which is set up as my office so I will place all the supplies in there and work on it over the Christmas break.
$59.12 for 4 pairs of velour pants from New York & Company. These were the most comfortable lounge pants I have ever owned. I had a few pairs in Texas but somehow they all went missing when I moved to Pennsylvania. That is just crazy to me since PA is colder than TX. In any case, I found my old order so I reordered 4 pairs for delivery since there isn’t a store close to my home.
$42.32 for gas. I filled up my tank from about one quarter til empty to completely full.
$149.99 for a new set of luggage. This is a 3 piece set of hard side suitcases that I have wanted for a long time. It said the original price was $269 but I think that $150 for a set of three suitcases is a good deal. The set contains a 20 inch carry on, a 24 inch checked and a 28 inch checked. One of my current suitcases is over 20 years old but I do not use it for travel any more. I keep it in the house just to store items, even though I am sure it can make the trip. The rest of my luggage is about 12 years old but is already showing more signs of wear than the older piece! The luggage I ordered is a metallic finish which I am told can get scuffed while traveling. I plan on using the carry on quite a bit as I go to conferences. The other two pieces may remain as storage and vanity at home since they are so gorgeous looking.
