Every Friday I post on my weekly income and expenses in an effort to keep on track of my budget for the month. By breaking down my transactions on a weekly basis I can see where my money is going and see if I am going to be able to stay under my total budget for the month.

I spent $26.65 on household items this week, mainly because I needed to get a few supplies for the cat. I am trying out a new litter for him because the regular litter that I have been using costs almost $15 for a bag that lasts two weeks.

My spending on food was a little bit higher than in recent weeks because I have started a new health kick. In an effort to eat more fruits and vegetables I bought a blender like the Magic Bullet and I have been making shakes every day. I bought a ton of frozen fruits because they tend to last longer but since this is a new thing for me the initial outlay was a bit higher than I expected.

I was using a cheaper crystal litter that worked much better but it has been off the shelves for a month now and I have no idea when it will be back on stock. I can order it online but there is a minimum that you have to purchase at one time and the shipping charges on it make the cost per bag much higher than getting it in the store right now.

I will wait a little bit longer to see if the litter comes back to the store but if I don’t see it within the next week I may have to stick with something else.

I have started to use coupons again and I hope that they can make a dent in my spending, so I can use those savings to supplement my budget for the month.

It is only halfway into the month and I am more than halfway through all of my budget so I need to keep a really close eye on the purchases for the next two weeks to make sure I do not go over my budget for the month.
