I ended up saving money on a purchase because the sale sign was wrong yesterday. I had gone into a store to get some sunglasses and finally decided on two that I really wanted. They were both under signs that said 40% off but one had an additional tag showing a price reduction, while the other only had the original price tag. The one with the reduction was originally $22 but was showing a price of $13.20 on the reduction sticker.

I took them both to the register and asked if I could get the ones without the reduced price on a price check before I made up my mind. I wanted to see if they were really on sale at the reduced price because they were showing $28 for the pair.

I did not realize that the bar code portion of price tag had fallen off while I was walking up so I told the associate I could go to get a similar pair so she could check. She asked what section they were in and said she really did not want me to walk all the way back there, nor did she want to walk back because that area was always a mess. She said the two I had were similar so she would just ring the first one up twice.

The sale sign was was wrong apparently because the first pair rang up at 60% off so she just double scanned it to account for my other pair with the missing bar code, which still had the $28 price tag section on it. I also had coupons so I ended up paying $6.54 (plus tax) each!
