Welcome to tracking of income and expenses for the month. Please note that I get paid on the last day of the month so my cash flow net effect will usually be negative until the last day of the month.
This does not mean that I am adding to my debt, it just means that the money coming in is less than the money going out because bills are due starting on the first but I don’t get paid until the last day.
So again to clarify (since I get so many questions), this shows the cash FLOW for the month. On Day 2 of every month I will have a negative FLOW because I have paid rent etc so money has LEFT my checking account. I have not had any money come in on Day 2 of the current month since I got paid on day 27 or 30 or 31 of the previous month so that income is counted for LAST month.
Income for the month to date: $144.85
Expenses for the month to date: $2515.20
Net effect: -$2370.35
Since the last posting I have spent some money getting things ready for my trip this summer. I also bought some stuff for my brother’s family which I am supposed to be getting reimbursed later.
I got a little bit of income from ads on the blog and people who are repaying their Lending Club Loans so that keeps the cash flowing in nicely.
I am soooooooooooooooooo happy that we are getting paid on Tuesday so I will not have to see the very low balance in my ING accounts any more.
I still have some more stuff to buy before I leave including LUGGAGE so I will be going over the budget this month I am sure. Yes I know we talk about having an Emergency Fund but mine was drained by having to pay for my two sets of plane tickets (long story) and since I do not want to get interest charged on those purchases I paid off the cards in full.
I would rather have $6.65 left in my Emergency Fund and not get interest charges than the other way right now.
I am looking for guest posts to feature in July so hit me up if you have a really juicy post on ways to save money.
I will see you guys and gals later as I continue my journey to save money and become debt free!!!!
I need to start tracking my finances better. Just by being able to read the way you do it and are able to save on items make it seem less daunting.
Yes, I wish I was this good at tracking my finances!
Well all you have to do is take the first step. Keep all your receipts and enter them daily. It gets easier as time goes by.
It is good to make it a habit to have recorded our daily account… Most people just lazy to do it. But when come to tracking their finance, they cannot remember how they spent their money sometimes…
